The break caused a sinkhole to develop around 3 a.m. on Old Forest Creek Road near Piney Mountain Road.

About 30 residents were without water as crews with Orange Water and Sewer Authority replaced a broken water pipe.
One lane of Old Forest Creek Drive was closed until around 10:30 a.m., when crews finished repairing the damage.
