Food drive for furloughed Fort Bragg workers

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.

Organizers with AFGE Local 1770 said about 20,000 pounds of food was provided - enough to feed 600 families.

Organizers said it's a huge misconception that civil service always means a person has a good paying job.

"We've got people that actually - they cut grass for a living - that make just right above $20,000 a year. So when we talk about paycheck to paycheck, we do have a group of folks that are very low middle class if you want even define it at as middle class," said an organizer.
