Jet makes unscheduled landing at RDU

RALEIGH-DURHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Authorities say an American Eagle jet flying from Atlanta to New York landed without incident around 3:15 p.m. after reporting a hydraulic problem.

American Airlines spokesman Matt Miller said the crew in the cockpit noticed an indication of low pressure in the hydraulic system. Miller said an emergency was declared as a precaution.

Miller said the CRJ7 was taken out of service after mechanics examined it and the flight was canceled.

Miller said the airline would help as many of the 54 passengers as possible get to New York Thursday and schedule a flight to LaGuardia Airport on Friday.

No one was injured.
