RDU Terminal 1 to reopen in March

RALEIGH-DURHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Contractors started the $68 million renovation last summer.

Southwest Airlines and its sister carrier AirTran Airways will operate out that section once it reopens. They now use an older section of Terminal 1.

Highlights will include an expanded security checkpoint and dining and shopping area before security checkpoints.

Terminal 1 first opened in 1981.
