Family, police seek answers in fatal hit-and-run

RALEIGH, N.C.

It has been two weeks since 27-year-old Dwight Smith was found lying in the roadway on Pettigrew Street in Raleigh. He was transported to WakeMed, but died shortly after he arrived at the hospital.

Police are still trying to find the hit-and-run vehicle and its driver.

There have not been any arrests so far, and the family hopes that its on the ground effort will provide new leads to the case. Family members and police canvassed a Raleigh neighborhood, going door-to-door to hand out flyers Saturday night.

"I know someone seen something and just want if someone seen anything please let us know or police officers know," the victim's father Dwight Smith Sr. said.
