James McNamara was charged in 2012 with one felony count of indecent liberties for allegedly having improper contact with a 16-year-old student at Corinth Holders High School.
The teen accused McNamara of touching her inappropriately after a ride home and allowing her to get a bit tipsy.
In his plea entered Monday, McNamara only admitted to allowing the teen to drink in his presence, not to any sexual contact.
McNamara has maintained the only thing he was guilty of was poor judgment for giving the girl a ride home.
But in a statement before the court Monday, the unidentified teen shot back.
"This case has had more of an impact on me than I could have imagined ... I have lost a lot of people that I thought were my friends. My peers and teachers look at me differently. No matter where I go or what I do, people judge me, not for me but what they've heard throughout this case. I felt hopeless, I told the truth; the defendant lied and everyone still loves him and believes him," she said.
McNamara was given no jail time and a year of unsupervised probation. He currently lives out of state and surrendered his NC teaching license when he resigned.
McNamara had taught history and civics at Corinth Holders High since August 2010 prior to his arrest.
