Detectives with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said the suspect entered a Kangaroo convenience store on Murphy Road around 5:45 a.m., and then took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene. No one was injured.
The suspect was described as a short African American man, wearing a white shirt.
Anyone with information about the incident, or who can identify the suspect, is asked to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at (910) 323-1500.
