Three charged in 2011 Smithfield murder

SMITHFIELD, N.C.

The Smithfield Police Department said three men are now charged in the death of 18-year-old Rasheive DeSahwn Ray of Clayton.

Ray's body was found by officers at 12:40 a.m. on October 27, 211 in the front yard of a home in the 400 block of Collier Street in Smithfield. He had been shot to death.

Gregory Devon Obey, 29, and Antwon Quartez Obey, 28, are charged with first-degree murder. They were being held without bond in the Johnston County Jail.

Calvin Dwight Mitchell, 27, is charged as an accessory. His bond was set at $500,000.

According to ABC11 news archives, Ray was wounded in a drive by shooting in Clayton about six months before his death.
