Moore County Sheriff Neil Godfrey said his deputies were alerted to the case by the child's parents after finding sexually explicit messages on a cell phone.
Deputies and Moore County School Police arrested Troy Jareau Thomas, 25, of Gaines Street, Aberdeen. He's charged with felony indecent liberties with a child, one count of felony soliciting a child by computer, and one count of sexual battery.
Bond was set at $75,000.
