Cumberland County deputies seek help to solve break-ins

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C.

The command post was set-up all day to give residents a chance to share any information they knew and express their concerns with authorities.

The Gray's Creek area has been marred by break-ins all summer, most of them involving cars parked right in home driveways. High powered weapons and ammunition were stolen in the latest crime.

Investigators set up shop in hopes of tracking down more information. Not only did these command posts open up for tips, but worried neighbors said they wanted to ease their fears.

"I was really concerned...I really wanted to know that this was not the beginning of a trend. That this wasn't something that happened on a regular basis or anything, and he was very reassuring that they've got everything handled," said resident Faye Barnes.

Anyone with information regarding the break-ins is asked to call Crimestoppers at 483-8477.
