It started in the kitchen of a home in the 700 block of Ashfield Drive in the Hillendale subdivision around 6 p.m.

Three people inside the house at the time made it out safely.
The flames were contained to the living room and kitchen. The first floor suffered heavy damage.
The Red Cross is helping the family.
