The accident happened around 4 a.m. on Capital Boulevard. Police said a 2008 Ford sedan ran off the road and struck a tree.
Darnell Marquise Johnson, 25 was the only one inside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
All inbound traffic was detoured onto I-440 West, but lanes have since reopened. Outbound traffic was not affected.
