Officers focused their efforts in the Southside community, near the 900 block of Fayetteville Street.
Investigators said they have arrested eight people and are still searching for eight more suspects. The 66 charges filed stem from selling heroin, cocaine, and prescription pain pills.
Police have arrested the following people:
- Xavier Johnson, 36, on charges of two counts of sale of heroin, two counts of delivery of heroin, two counts of possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver and two counts of maintaining a dwelling for the manufacture, sale or delivery of controlled substances. Investigators also served a search warrant at 509 Eastway Avenue and charged Johnson with additional charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and five drug charges. Investigators confiscated 13 Oxycodone pills, one Vicodin pill, 2.4 grams of marijuana and a .25-caliber pistol.
- Torrey Taborn, 25, on charges of sale of cocaine, delivery of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a city park (Forest Hills) and maintaining a dwelling for the manufacture, sale or delivery of controlled substances
- Benjamine Page, 34, on charges of sale of heroin, delivery of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a school (R.N. Harris)
- David Johnson, 32, on charges of conspiracy to sell or deliver heroin and maintaining a vehicle for the manufacture, sale or delivery of controlled substances
- Keith Watson, 23, on charges of sale of cocaine, delivery of cocaine and possession of cocaine with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a city park (Hillside Park)
- Ramone Anderson, 26, on charges of sale of cocaine, delivery of cocaine and possession of cocaine with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a city park (Hillside Park)
- Joseph Christmas, 34, on charges of sale of heroin, delivery of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of city park (W.D. Hill)
- Kalid Gillard, 22, on charges of sale of cocaine, delivery of cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for manufacture, sale and delivery of controlled substances and possession of cocaine with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a school (Eastway Elementary School)
Investigators have warrants on the following people who have not yet been arrested:
- Jermaine Jenkins, 37, is wanted on charges of sale of heroin, delivery of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver and maintaining a dwelling for the manufacture, sale or delivery of controlled substances
- Eric Ray, 30, is wanted on charges of sale of heroin, delivery of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a city park (Hillside Park)
- Randy Whoie, 28, is wanted on two counts of sale of cocaine, two counts of delivery of cocaine and two counts of possession of cocaine with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a city park (Hillside Park)
- Decarus Smith, 34, is wanted on charges of sale of heroin, delivery of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a school (Kestrel Heights)
- Curtis Strickland, 46, is wanted on charges of sale of heroin, delivery of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver
- Kenya Thompson, 41, is wanted on charges of sale of heroin, delivery of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a school (Hillside High School)
- Charles Daniels, 22, is wanted on charges of sale of heroin, delivery of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver within 1,000 feet of a city park (Hillside Park)
- Francis Okonji, 24, is wanted on charges of sale of cocaine, delivery of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver and maintaining a vehicle for the manufacture, sale or delivery of controlled substances
