Durham girl's wish comes true

RALEIGH, N.C.

ABC11 tagged along as Triniah Best was granted a wish and chose a day at the mall with the royal treatment.

"She knew right away she wanted a shopping spree," mom Dollisha Best said.

Triniah looks like a typical girl shopping with her mom, but it was not a typical shopping trip. And Triniah is not a typical 7 year old.

She was born with a debilitating heart disease called pulmonary atresia.

"Basically one side of her heart didn't form completely," Dollisha Best said.

In her short lifetime, she has already had four heart surgeries and will undergo more in the future.

But on Friday, Make-A-Wish and Macy's rolled out the red carpet for Triniah. They brought her to the mall in a limo and let her run wild in the store.

She was able to be a typical little girl.

"I like going shopping, and everywhere I go I see Santa I get real excited," Triniah said.

You can help make a wish come true for other children. If you take a letter to Santa and drop it off at a Macy's store on Friday, Macy's will donate $2 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for each letter it receives.
