Rabies alert in Wake County

RALEIGH, N.C.

Testing at the State Lab in Raleigh confirms the kitten did have rabies.

"We don't want to alarm residents in Holly Springs, but they should be aware of this case and of the potential for exposure to themselves, family members and their pets," said Sue Lynn Ledford, Community Health Director for Wake County.

Wake County Animal Control says people exposed to the animal have been notified.
