Officials with the Town of Cary had to close Gentlewoods Drive from Breyman Court to Parson Woods Lane due to an 8-inch utility line break that caused substantial road damage.

About 40 homes in the area are without water, and 11 homes are directly impacted by the road closure.
Crews have been working for hours to repair the damage.
Officials estimated that water service and road access would be restored by 5 p.m.
Detours have been set up to direct drivers to use Southglen Drive to Killingsworth Drive and Kelekent Lane to Hassellwood Drive.
