Police charge 23 people with driving under the influence

Raleigh police are in the midst of a serious crackdown on drunk drivers this holiday weekend.

Raleigh Police Department released the results of a DWI checkpoint from early Saturday morning on Capital Boulevard.

Over a period of two and a half hours, authorities from Raleigh police and several other departments charged 23 people with driving under the influence.

Officers also made five drug arrests.
