Two charged in Hope Mills Subway armed robbery

HOPE MILLS, N.C.

It happened Saturday after police got a call about a robbery with a weapon at a Subway sandwich shop in Village Shopping Center on North Main Street.

The two suspects left the business and headed south on Main Street. A police officer headed to the call spotted the getaway car on Main Street and pulled it over.

That's when officers say they struggled with 26-year-old Steven Ray Seidel before they were able to arrest him.

Seidel, of Shannon, N.C., is charged with armed robbery, assault on a law enforcement officer and injury to personal property. Bond was set at $10,000.

Kayla Angelique Smith, 21, of Fayetteville, is charged as an accessory and with marijuana possession. Her bond was set at $5,500.
