Raleigh gas leak leads to evacuation

Police blocked off an area in the 200 block of South Salisbury Street in downtown Raleigh around noon Monday after a smell of natural gas was reported.

The probation and parole office at 227 Salisbury Street was the only business evacuated.

Officials say no one lost gas service.

Crews repaired the leak around 9:30 p.m and will patch the road overnight.
