Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville limits visitors due to flu

FAYETTEVILLE

Patients in the emergency room will now be limited to one visitor, and children under 12 will not be allowed at all beginning Wednesday.

People experiencing flu-like symptoms, such as fever, cough, sore throat and runny nose, are urged not to visit friends and family at the Fayetteville hospital.

Health experts recommend people with flu-like symptoms stay home. They say it's not too late to get a flu shot.

The hospital is trying to combat the latest flu strain which has left 13 people dead across North Carolina.

UNC, Rex, and Duke hospitals have also implemented similar restrictions.
