The road was closed at U.S. 70, and drivers had to exit onto inbound Glenwood Avenue.
The incident was reported around 1:00 p.m., and the road was reopened around 3:00 p.m.
Raleigh police say a man in his 20s committed suicide and was pronounced dead at the scene.
