The dead have been identified as 55-year-old Gerald Harris, and 52-year-old Pamela Howard.

The sheriff's office would not say who fired the first shot.

EMS was called to the home Friday around 3:30 p.m. and discovered the bodies.

Neighbors said a couple lived at the home, and the female was only able to get around using a wheelchair.

Erik Egbert lives right next door.

"Very nice people, kind," said Egbert. "The old woman once in a while would, on holidays and stuff, she would bring biscuits and stuff over and give them to my dogs over the fence. So, they were really sweet people."

Egbert says the couple really kept to themselves.

"They were quiet. They never argued. They never got into fights with each other," said Egbert. "As far as I know, they were a pretty good couple."

A neighbor says the couple moved into the area two or three years ago.
