Two arrested in Rocky Mount death investigation

ROCKY MOUNT, NC

William Richard Gingras, 34, and Natasha Maria North, 21, were taken into custody early Friday morning in Weldon. They face charges of first-degree murder in connection with the death of 40-year-old Larry Earl Armstrong, from Nashville.

Rocky Mount Police found Armstrong after they were called Thursday morning to investigate an unresponsive person in a motel room at the Sunshine Inn, at 1621 N. Wesleyan Blvd.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine Armstong's cause of death.

Gingras and North are incarcerated in the Nash County Jail with no bond. They also face charges of common law robbery.

Police say Gingras and North were traveling through Rocky Mount, and have only been here since Easter weekend.

Investigators believe the two are originally from Massachusetts, but are currently homeless.
