Bank of America to lay off 540 employees

CHARLOTTE (WTVD) -- Bank of America to lay off 540 employees in the Legacy Asset Servicing Division in Charlotte in late August.

Bank leaders say this group was key during the economic downturn by supporting homeowners who were at risk of foreclosure.

Now, the bank is returning to normal staffing levels.
