NORTH CAROLINA (WTVD) -- School supplies can be expensive, and often teachers will dig into their own pockets to help take the burden off students and parents.
Teachers pay an average of $448 out of their own pocket for school supplies, according to a survey by the National School Supply and Equipment Association.
ABC11 looked into the school supply lists for kindergarten classes in three schools across our viewing area to give you an idea of what it costs to supply one child for one year.
