Must-see video: Officers save choking toddler

A lifesaving rescue on the side of an Illinois highway was captured on police dashcam video last week.

The dashcam was rolling when an officer ran to help a toddler who was choking inside another vehicle.

The officer grabbed the girl, turned her over and began the heimlich maneuver as the girl's frantic grandmother is heard crying.

Seconds later another officer arrives. The two work frantically to save the girl. They lay her on the road to perform CPR and after some tense moments she began breathing again and regained consciousness.

The girl made a full recovery.
