CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Championship has come to an end as Duke takes the ACC title after defeating Florida State during Sunday's championship game.

The ACC is one of the strongest baseball conferences this year, with a total of seven teams ranked in the top 25.

Duke wins 8-2 in semifinal game against Miami

-Alex Stone hit a two-run home run to left-center field in the bottom of the eighth Saturday night giving Duke an 8-2 win over Miami in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament.

-The win sends sixth-seeded Duke to Sunday's conference championship game against No. 5-seed Florida State on Sunday.

Wake Forest falls 9-6 to Florida State

-Max Williams batted 3 for 5, drove in four runs, and his two-run homer in the sixth inning.

-The win sends Florida State to its first ACC championship game since 2018.

-The Seminoles will face the winner of the second semifinal between No. 6-seed Duke and 11th-seed Miami on Sunday.

Wake Forest eliminates UNC 9-5 in 12 innings

- Down four runs, UNC shows fight with Vance Honeycutt ripping a leadoff double off Michael Massey to start the bottom of the 12th.

- Honeycutt steals third but Casey Cook strikes out swinging.

- Parks Harber goes down on strikes as he chases a Massey slider. UNC is down to its last out.

- Anthony Donofrio is at the plate, trying to keep it alive for UNC.

- Full count for Donofrio. He swings and misses and the game is over.

- Wake Forest wins 9-5 and advances to play Florida State at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Wake Forest does major damage in top of the 12th inning

- Wake Forest's Marek Houston leads off the top of the 12th inning with a single.

- The Demon Deacons do damage! Nick Kurtz rips a home run to left field off Ben Peterson and it's 7-5 Wake Forest.

- And now Jack Winnay reaches first on a fielding error. Javar Williams bunts and grounds out but Winnay goes to second and the Deacons are looking for more.

- Seaver King is intentionally walked. Adam Tellier is at bat.

- After a long at-bat Tellier is hit by a pitch. Bases are loaded and the Wake Forest fans are roaring.

- Pitching change coming for UNC. Aidan Haugh comes in for Peterson.

- Antonio Morales is the batter for Wake Forest. Morales rips a shot through the right side of the infield to score two and make it 9-5 Wake Forest.

- Tate Ballestero strike out. Two gone.

- Jacob Burley strikes out to end the inning but the Deacons plate four to take control.
