Active meth lab discovered in Johnston County, 3 arrested

BENSON, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Johnston County Sheriff's Office arrested three people Friday afternoon after a methamphetamine lab was discovered near McGee's Crossroads.

The Narcotics Division searched the residence in the 400 block of Church Road in Benson. Detectives reportedly found an active meth lab, and three people were taken into custody.

Chopper 11 HD was over the scene while law enforcement evaluated the situation and officials in hazmat suits combed the property.

The names of the suspects were not immediately available.
