Search ends at Raleigh Crabtree Creek after reported water rescue

Chopper 11 flies over reported rescue on Raleigh's Crabtree Creek
Police are seen on boats in the water after reports of someone in distress.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Raleigh Fire Department searched Crabtree Creek Friday morning after a reported water rescue.

The call came in at about 8 a.m. According to officials, the caller said they heard a person calling for help and splashing water from the creek near North King Charles Road.

Raleigh Fire Department confirmed they, along with assistance from USAR 801, ATV team, and Raleigh Police Department, were searching the area.

They went up and down the creek, Raleigh Fire said, they had found no boat, kayak or water vessel.

This is no longer an active search.
