Authorities investigate father, son shooting

LILLINGTON, N.C.

A father and son are in critical condition at Duke Hospital after being shot outside of a house Friday.

Deputies are not saying how the two were shot, but it may have been the result of a /*domestic dispute*/.

The house in /*Royal Pines*/ belongs to Roy Ellis. A neighbor, Lindsay Perdue says she heard arguing then /*gunshots*/.

"There were four, I heard them because after I had gotten out of the shower, it was 3:15 p.m.," Perdue said. "I heard two of them back to back. When that happened, that's when I looked outside and seen all of it."

/*Chopper 11*/ captured images a shotgun and bloody clothes under a carport at the home.

That is where deputies found 45-year-old Ronnie Ellis and his 67-year-old father suffering gunshot wounds.

/*Eyewitness News*/ has learned the son, Ronnie, was shot in the stomach. His father, Roy, was shot in the face.

Authorities say they are looking for suspects. They also say the father and son have a history of domestic trouble.

Perdue says the pair often argued and alcohol was usually involved.

"They drink a lot," she said. "They get drunk everyday and ride golf carts up and down the road, all day long."
