Highway Patrol kicks-off Operation Slow Down

The N.C. State Highway Patrol and the Governor's Highway Safety Program will kick off Operation Slow Down/No Need 2 Speed Tuesday, April 1.

The event will be held at 11 a.m. at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte. Local law enforcement agencies will join troopers April 1-6, to encourage drivers to slow down and follow the speed limit.

During the campaign, stepped-up enforcement and patrols will be conducted across the state. Officers will focus on motorists exceeding the posted speed limit on interstates and major four-lane highways.
