Jeannie Michelle Hodges of Autryville, N.C. was arrested Tuesday after the sheriff's office received a complaint from a citizen.
According to that person, the 39-year-old former middle school teacher had an affair with a 15-year-old student while employed at /*Hobbton Middle School*/.
Investigators determined the relationship began during the end of the 2007-2008 school year. Hodges left school prior to the end of the school year, and the 15-year-old was one of her students during that year.
The teen had stayed overnight at Hodges' home on multiple occasions, and Hodges was very open about the relationship, which prompted the citizen to notify the Sampson County Sheriff's Office.
Hodges is charged with statutory rape, sexual offense with a student and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
