Woman killed in traffic accident

RALEIGH The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Capital Boulevard and Old Buffaloe Road.

Authorities said a Honda Accord driven by 47-year-old Teresa Bordeoux -with passengers 51-year-old Gary Bryant and 18-year-old Cassandra Carroll inside- was stopped at a red light in the right turn lane of Capital Boulevard at Old Buffaloe Road when a Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by 24-year-old Keosha Patton ran into the Honda.

Police said Patton was unable to see the Honda because there was a SUV in the lane beside the car blocking her view.

Upon impact, the Honda jumped the median and sideswiped a Pontiac driven by 19-year-old Sharde Jones. He was not injured.

Bordeoux was pronounced dead at the scene, while Patton, Bryant and Carroll were transported to WakeMed for treatment of non life threatening injuries.

Patton has been charged with death by motor vehicle, exceeding 45 mph in a 45 mph zone, no operator's license and failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision.
