Reid, known as the "T-shirt bandit," allegedly entered a string of convenience stores along Lillington Highway and North Main Street in Spring Lake and robbed the clerks without displaying a weapon.
Reid wore a T-shirt that he pulled over the lower half of his face in an attempt to hide his identity.
He has been charged with four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of common law robbery, two counts of second degree kidnapping and four counts of felony conspiracy.
Police said they believe Reid's son, 26-year old Morris Antonio Reid Jr., may have been his father's accomplice in the crimes.
Detectives are searching for him for questioning. He was last seen in the Spring Lake area.
He is an African American man, standing about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, black hair and brown eyes.
He wears his hair in dreadlocks style and has numerous tattoos over his body.
