Investigators did not say where Schaffner is from or where he was last seen. He is considered armed and dangerous.
He may be driving a black GMC pick-up truck with a Tennessee tag or a red Chevy pick-up truck that has a SC license plate.
The FBI said it identified Schaffner through tips from the billboard that is up across the southern U.S.
