Both were newly constructed two-story homes at or near completion, and neither had been sold yet by the builder. One structure located at 47 Cameo Court was fully involved when fire fighters arrived and was essentially destroyed. The other structure at 12 Cameo Court received fire, smoke and water damage which was significant, but to a far lesser degree than the other house. The houses are the only two structures in the subdivision.
The structures were both built by Gidco Building and Development of Smithfield, NC. No monetary damage estimate has been made available.
The Clayton Police Department is investigating the fires which appear to have been set intentionally.
