Troubleshooter: Oven problem

RALEIGH

"It won't come on," she told ABC11 Eyewitness News Troubleshooter Diane Wilson.

Freeman said three months after moving in her new home in 2007 there were problems with the oven.

"The board kept going out - the control board," she said.

Since it was under warranty the repair was covered. Once the original warranty ran out, she bought an extended warranty. Now, she's glad she has that extra protection as the oven has gone out about a dozen times over the past three years.

"They come out, diagnose what's wrong with it, then they order the part," said Freeman. "Each time it was the same identical thing."

Freeman has the receipts for each repair.

"The receipts are for 832 almost 900 dollars. To me, that doesn't make any sense because I could have two ovens by now, two stoves and a refrigerator," she said.

Then, the stove went out in October and she's still waiting for the parts for the repair.

"No one was listening to me and basically I felt they wanted this extended warranty to end and I would be stuck with this oven and basically I decided to call you," said Freeman.

ABC11 got in touch with a Jenn-Air representative. We were told they're working to get Freeman a new oven.

"I'll be grateful to you for helping me get through this hurdle," said Freeman.

Jenn-Air is still working with Freeman to get her a new oven. She hopes this one does not have all the problems as her first one. A rep with Jenn-Air did not get back to us with a comment.
