All clear given after bomb threat closes streets in Chapel Hill

Chapel Hill police are investigating a bomb threat that forced them to close four streets Thursday morning.

Police say someone called in an anonymous threat to 400 West Rosemary Street. The threat was made from a phone that only has 911 capabilities.

The following streets were closed as a precaution while the building was searched.

  • West Rosemary Street from Main Street in Carrboro to Roberson Street in Chapel Hill
  • West Franklin Street from Merritt Mill Road to Roberson Street
  • Graham Street from West Rosemary Street to West Franklin Street
  • Merritt Mill Road from West Rosemary Street to West Franklin Street

The all clear was given just after 9 a.m. and police said their search turned up nothing.
