Teen clerk killed in pawnshop robbery

FAYETTEVILLE

A Fayetteville Police Department spokesperson said a man and woman walked into the Cumberland Pawn Shop at 713 Grove Street around 5:15 p.m. and murdered 19-year-old Kyle Harris.

They then fled in Harris' vehicle - believed to be a silver Saturn Ion.

Homicide detectives said late Saturday they are looking for Cedric Theodis Hobbs Jr., 29, in connection with the murder.

They also announced Hobbs was last known to be in the company of 20-year-old Alexis Mattocks and her 9-month-old child.

Police say they fled the scene in a silver 2004 Saturn Ion, NC registration YWC-6552, and that the vehicle has "fuzzy dice" hanging from the rear view mirror and scratches on the front passengers side.

Both suspects are also wanted for questioning in a suspicious death that occurred in McDuffie County, Georgia earlier Saturday, and police say Hobbs has a history of armed robberies and assaults on law enforcement officials.

Officials warn both suspects should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Anyone with information that can help them is urged to call the Watch Commander's office at (910) 433-1830 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS.
