Man found shot outside Raleigh apartment complex

RALEIGH Authorities say the man was found just after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pointe at Crabtree apartments off Duraleigh Road near Glenwood Avenue.

Eyewitnesses told police they found the man lying in the parking lot after he was apparently dropped off.

Police searched the area for about two hours, even going door-to-door, hoping to find information.

One of the residents they spoke to said they heard the shots and helped calm the victim down until help arrived.

"I ran outside, found an individual across the street ... across the apartment complex," eyewitness Bruce West said. "He was yelling for help call 911 and said that he had been shot three times."

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim and no suspects have been named.

Anyone with information is asked to call Raleigh Police.
