Police are looking for a heavyset woman in her late 20s who robbed a Raleigh bank Thursday.

Investigators said just before 11:30 a.m., the woman went up to a teller at the Wachovia bank located at 4530 Western Boulevard and passed a note demanding money.

The suspect - who wore a green hooded sweatshirt, black skull cap, dark pants and dark sunglasses with gold trim between the glass and arms - then left.

Police say the same woman may be behind similar robberies at banks in eastern North Carolina, including Wilmington.

Anyone who might know the suspect’s identify is asked to call the RPD’s Detective Division at (919) 996-3555 or Raleigh CrimeStoppers at (919) 834-HELP.
