Montay Lashawn Murphy, 20, was pronounced dead at Johnston Memorial Hospital shortly after the shooting.
Police said they were called to the apartment complex around 9:20 p.m.
A man and a woman are in custody.
Benson police have charged 21-year-old Leslie Dyan Baker amd 22-year-old Quentine Mondarus Morrisey with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and other charges.
Officers say they have arrest warrants for 27-year-old James Alexander Graham for first-degree murder and other charges.
Graham's whereabouts are unknown and police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
