High temperatures linger across the state

High temperatures and high humidity are expected in much of the state this week.The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for 21 counties in central and southeastern North Carolina.

There is a chance for storms Monday afternoon, with temperatures dropping a bit in the evening into Tuesday. However by mid-to-late week, temperatures are expected to climb back up with highs back into the upper 90s to 100 once again.

Last week, Raleigh-Durham International Airport recorded a record five-day triple-digit streak that ended Sunday.
