Wake checkpoint nets 114 charges

A multi-agency checkpoint hosted by the Wake County Sheriff's office yielded 114 charges, including 11 for driving while impaired.The checkpoint, which started at 11 p.m. on Highway 401 in the area of Legend Road and Old Stage Road, was part of the Wake County Safety Task Force, and included participation by police departments from Apex, Cary, Garner, Holly Springs, Knightdale, Morrisville, N.C. State University, Raleigh, and Wendell.

Other offenses included two misdemeanor drug violations, one felony drug violation, 43 charges of having no operator's license, 10 charges of driving while license revoked, six child safety seat violations, three seat belt violations, one charge of carrying a concealed weapon, two open container violations, and 34 other offenses.
