The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority Board Monday announced its pick to succeed retiring RDU Airport Director John Brantley.

It said the next director will be Michael Landguth, who is currently President and CEO of the Chattanooga Airport Authority. He's held that post for seven years.

"We were looking for someone who can drive an organization and can strategically turn challenges into opportunities. The board unanimously agreed that Michael is the person to lead RDU into the future," said said Terry Yeargan, the chair of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority board, in a news release.

Landguth is expected to take over at RDU in December.
