Sewer work to close parts of Wade Avenue

RALEIGH

The City of Raleigh will close the 2800 - 3100 blocks of Wade Avenue to make repairs to an eight-inch sewer main. The work is expected to be complete by noon on Wednesday.

Motorists should use the following alternate routes during the closure:

Inbound Wade Avenue toward Downtown from the Dixie Trail intersection: Traffic will be detoured right to travel south along Dixie Trail to Hillsborough Street, left on Hillsborough Street to Brooks Avenue, and then left on Brooks Avenue to eastbound Wade Avenue heading toward Downtown

Outbound Wade Avenue from the Brooks Avenue intersection: Traffic will be detoured left to Brooks Avenue, right on Hillsborough Street, right on Dixie Trail, then left to westbound Wade Avenue heading toward Interstate 40, I-440 and the Wade Avenue Interchange.

The repairs will also include flushing the sewer main. Customers in the area should not experience an interruption of service.
