Man wanted for stealing ATV in stolen truck

FAYETTEVILLE

Police said on Jan. 6, a woman told them that when she returned home to her Winchester Street house around 6:30 p.m., she saw a green Dodge Ram pickup truck in the driveway with her family's ATV in the back of it. She said after she parked her vehicle, the truck rammed her car and drove away.

The woman was not hurt, but a passenger inside the car was injured.

A Fayetteville police officer tried to stop the truck, but the suspects refused to slow down. Officers eventually lost them in Robeson County.

Authorities later identified one of the three suspects as Devon Gilmore. They also learned that the truck used for the theft was reported stolen the day before from a home in the 6500 block of Bonnie Bell Lane.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the 20 year old. He is charged with two counts of larceny of a motor vehicle, two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle, conspiracy, and breaking and entering -- all of which are felonies.

Gilmore is described as an African American man with a tattoo of "Von" on his forearm and a brand on his upper arm. He stands about 5' 10" tall and weighs 171 pounds.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gilmore is asked to contact Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856 or CrimeStoppers at (910) 483-TIPS(8477).
