Franklin Co. neighborhood focus of rabies scare

FRANKLINTON, N.C.

Major hospitals as far away as WakeMed in Raleigh are treating dozens of people who may have been exposed to rabies.

Health officials said some people, especially children, can be unaware they have been bitten by a bat. They want anyone who may have lived at the apartments or visited there in the past 18 months to get vaccinated.
