The Durham Rescue Mission held a job fair Monday morning for its new thrift store, located on Chapel Hill Boulevard, right across from Sam's Club.
The new store is the Durham Rescue Mission's third in the area and will be the largest in the Triangle at 30,000 square feet.
The store accepted applications from residents of the Durham Rescue Mission, as well as from the general publicl.
"During my 44 years of ministry to the homeless, I have seen how difficult it is for recovered drug addicts, the homeless, and ex-prisoners to find jobs. Employers are reluctant to hire them because of potential problems," Ernie Mills, Co-Founder of Durham Rescue Missions said.
The Durham Rescue Mission's other two stores already provide jobs for 42 people.
