Raleigh Mayor Nancy McFarlane announced Wednesday that there will be two fireworks displays for the "The 'Works" in downtown Raleigh this Independence Day.

The Fayetteville Street show will start at 9:15 p.m. and then an hour later, another display will light up at the Red Hat Amphitheater at 10:15 p.m.

McFarlane said the earlier Fayetteville Street show will be for everyone's enjoyment, especially those with younger children.

She said the 10:15 p.m. display can best be viewed west of Fayetteville Street, in the Red Hat Amphitheater area.

There will also be free concerts in the outdoor venue.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The music will get cranked up at 6 p.m. with the Chris Hendricks Band, followed by Cravin Melon, with American Aquarium taking the stage at 8:30 p.m. and another show will be added after the conclusion of the fireworks.

"The 'Works" is sponsored by the City of Raleigh and ABC11.
